Crazy Arm

Broken By The Wheel

August 18th, 2009 · post by Chris Walktall · Make a comment

I was a massive fan of both No Comply and The Once Over Twice so when I discovered they had formed Crazy Arm from the ashes of their old bands I was incredibly excited. However, because I’m a fool I totally failed to pick up their album Born To Ruin and have heard nothing of them until I got my sweaty hands on their single Broken By The Wheel.

There’s no other way to say this, and god knows everyone is repeating the same mantra, but this is very, very good. The folk influenced guitar lines are pretty, dexterous and interesting without ever seeming self-indulgent, the drums and bass are tight as a ducks arse and the vocals and lyrics are interesting without ever stepping over to preachy.

The single is better than the B-side, but that’s only to be expected. If you were a fan of No Comply or The Once Over Twice, or you just enjoy interesting punk, get yourself a copy of this single and album now; I predict Crazy Arm are gonna do big things.
