My first experience of Austin Lucas was in a crowded hotel room in Gainesville, Florida during the Fest last October. I was blown away by his voice.

He plays laid acoustic country music, which, despite not usually being my cup of tea, never fails to put a smile on my face. The recording is superb and was handled by his father, whilst members of his family provided much of the musicianship, which only serves to perpetuate the heartwarming glow that emanates from almost every song on the album.

‘Singing Man’ is, for me, the stand out track on this album, with luscious male/female vocals over a beautiful violin driven back drop and wonderfully humble lyrics. The title track ‘Somebody Loves You’ is another highlight, with its wonderful melody and narrative lyrical themes.

I would happily endorse this album to anyone who has even a passing interest in country or folk music, anyone who likes to smile or, music simply, anyone who enjoys good music. This is highly recommended.
