Activists show solidarity with Calais ‘jungle’

The French Government are planning the destruction of the main Pashtun Jungle in the Dunes area of Calais, prior to a mass deportation flight to Afghanistan. It sounds like more jungles may be under threat too. Campaigners are calling for solidarity actions on both sides of the Channel. There is also a callout for cameras, legal observers, medics, and other practical support to come to Calais for the evictions.

Individuals from No Borders Brighton, London No Borders, Detainee Solidarity London as well as others have already staged a protest at the French embassy in London on Monday 20th July. One person was arrested under section 14 of the pubic order act 1986 for taking part in FIT watching.
