After the success of the Carnival Against the Arms Trade last June (see the indymedia report here) Brighton campaigners are readying themselves for another big hit against the arms manufacturers EDO/ITT this October.

Under the title “SHUT ITT!” a mass demo against Brighton’s weapons factory will be happening on 15th October meeting at 12pm.

People will be converging on Brighton from across the UK to show their opposition to the war machine in an attempt to shut down the factory for good.

The Smash EDO campaign is one of the most active anti-war campaigns of its kind. To find out more visit

You can watch “On The Verge” – a film the Brighton Police have tried to ban. It’s a documentary about Smash EDO and the police repression it has suffered. The film can be watched here.

The mass action will be taking place October 15th 2008, meet 12 noon, opp. Flamer Station, Brighton. Wear red and bring things to make some noise!
