Cornwall arms factory disrupted

January 26th, 2009 · post by Fred Goodsell · Make a comment

At 7am this morning two activists climbed the roof of Helston Gunsmiths in Cornwall to protest against irresponsible nature of the arms trade. Helston Gunsmiths supply tanks & small arms to police, defence forces and the gun trade.

A banner has hung and the two activist remained on the roof till 9am.

“Around 90% of casualties in armed conflicts are caused by small arms, which are used for domestic repression by corrupt regimes and prolong violent conflict.”

One of the two claimed the action was inspired by the 5 year long campaign against EDO/ITT in Brighton and the recent Raytheon rooftop occupation in Bristol.
