September 2nd, 2009 · post by Fred Goodsell · Make a comment

People staying at or involved in this years Camp for Climate Action took action across the City of London this week.

Activists blockaded the local headquarters of Royal Bank of Scotland, protested at the office building occupied by Edelman (E.On’s PR firm), the Shell centre and occupied the E.ON headquarters.

According to a climate camp press release ‘Many of the people who took part in the actions were first time protesters who took part in Direct Action training at the Camp for Climate Action.’

Earlier in the week protesters visited Barclay’s Bank headquarters to highlight the link between the arms trade and climate change. The action takes place a week before the DSEI arms fair takes place in London. (See Arms fair protests for the City)

The camp which has seen several 1000 in attendance is the fourth of it’s kind and the first to take place in an urban environment.
