Between the Lines festival

April 13th, 2008 · post by Edd · Make a comment

between the lines logoSome of our friends in Brighton put on an amazing annual festival called Between the Lines. They’ve released some early details about what’s going to be happening there this year in June.

“Between The Lines is a DIY hardcore punk festival with bands playing in the evenings and open discussions, workshops and classes in the afternoons. We organise this way to open up space for us to discuss issues that affect us but which we rarely get chance to talk about at gigs and in daily life.

Between The Lines 2008 will be happening on 13th, 14th and 15th June at The Cowley Club in Brighton, UK.

Ideas for workshops, so far, are…

  • - Issues of consent
  • - Gender in hardcore punk
  • - Practical history of anarchism
  • - Ethnicity, migration and borders
  • - Mental health
  • - Feminist health or another women only space
  • - A workshop around vegan food/nutrition/good cooking

The bands we have confirmed so far are…

Me & Goliath
U.Y.A
Gramercy Riffs
End The Agony
Moloch
Braindead
Off Minor
Massmord
Insuiciety
