Defiance, Ohio mp3 release in aid of The Icarus Project

Folk punk band Defiance, Ohio have released 4 tracks from their website as a means of fund raising for The Icarus Project. To acquire the tracks all you have to do is make a donation via paypal with the minimum donation being $2 (around £1.40 with current exchange rates).

Tonight was a benefit organised by No Sweat, and money raised was also going towards Nueva Generacion. This is a collective raising money for a new social centre in Colombia, and they got a chance to take the mic as well as someone from the Colombia Solidarity Campaign, which was pretty interesting.

‘From the Depths’ formed in early 2008 and have recently released their debut album ‘Germinate’ through CrimethInc. The band is made up of members of Catharsis, Requiem, Network of Terror, Auryn and Balaclava. Welfare Abolition Act – LCAP raid the DWP

On the morning of March 9th, a group of determined LCAP (London coalition against poverty) campaigners raided Adelphi House in Central London, in response to the recently proposed ‘Welfare Reform Act ‘. The building, which houses the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) was blockaded atboth the front and side entrances between the hours of 11am and 2pm.
